The cookies and browser storage this website uses, and how to change your choice.
1. Summary
This website uses a small amount of browser storage that it needs to work, and which remembers the choices you make. It sets analytics cookies, through Microsoft Clarity, only if you choose "Allow". If you choose "Decline", or make no choice, Clarity does not run.
We also count visits with Plausible Analytics, which uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device. If you choose "Decline", we stop counting your visits too.
If part of this website breaks, Sentry sends us an error report. It uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device.
2. What the site needs to work
These do not need your permission, because they only do something you have asked for.

3. Microsoft Clarity, only if you choose "Allow"
If you allow it, we use Microsoft Clarity to see how pages are used, through heatmaps and session recordings. Microsoft provides Clarity and sets its cookies, both on this site and on Microsoft's own domains. They recognise your browser across visits and link your page views into a single visit. Microsoft also uses some of them for its own purposes, including advertising.
Microsoft lists these cookies, what each one does and how long it lasts in its list of Clarity cookies. Its use of data is covered by the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
4. Visit counts, without cookies
We use Plausible Analytics to count visits: which pages are read, which websites send people here, and visitors' countries and types of device. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not store your IP address. Pages that carry your own details, such as your score report, are never counted. Plausible keeps this data in the European Union. Its data policy explains how it counts.
If you choose "Decline" in the banner, we stop counting your visits.
5. Error reports, without cookies
We use Sentry to tell us when part of this website breaks. When it does, the report says what went wrong, on which page and in which type of browser. Personal link codes, such as the one in your score report's address, and email addresses are removed first, and your IP address is not sent. Sentry sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, and nothing is sent while the site works normally. Sentry keeps these reports in the European Union, for 90 days at most.
Because it stores nothing on your device, the cookie banner does not switch it on or off. The Privacy Notice explains why we use it.
6. Changing your choice
Use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. If you had chosen "Allow", we tell Clarity to delete its cookies from this site and stop recording, and the banner asks you again.
You can also delete cookies and browser storage in your browser's settings.
