Acceptable Use Policy
In force · Last updated 27 September 2026
What you must and must not do when you use the Synthaveil service.
1. Scope
This policy applies to everyone who uses the Synthaveil service, including its apps, add-ins, extensions, API and SDK. It forms part of the terms under which you use the service.
2. Protecting the product
Synthaveil is proprietary software, protected by our intellectual property rights, and patent pending.
2.1 You must not reverse what the service does
You must not attempt to work backwards from Synthaveil's output to the real values behind it, or to re-identify any individual, including by combining the output with other data.
You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, extract, decrypt or reconstruct the service, its engine or its supporting data, including by systematically testing inputs to map how the engine responds. Integration testing in the ordinary course is permitted.
Doing either is a breach of your licence and of our intellectual property rights.
2.2 You must not use the output to make decisions about people without our written agreement
You must not use Synthaveil's output in a system that makes decisions about individuals, such as hiring, credit, benefits, education, policing, healthcare access or insurance, unless we have agreed to that use in writing. You can ask for that agreement by emailing policies@synthaveil.com.
3. The data you send
You must have a lawful basis for any personal data you put through the service, and you must have given the people it relates to the information the law requires.
You must not put through the service, unless your agreement with us expressly covers it:
- data you have no right to process;
- special category data under Article 9 of the UK GDPR, or data about criminal convictions or offences;
- health information covered by the US HIPAA rules;
- real production data in a sandbox or test environment;
- data subject to any legal restriction you have not told us about.
4. General use
You must not use Synthaveil to:
- break any law, sanctions or export control rule;
- harm, harass, discriminate against or exploit anyone;
- infringe anyone else's rights;
- attack, overload or gain unauthorised access to our systems or anyone else's;
- get around usage limits, licence checks or billing;
- share your access with anyone outside your organisation, or resell the service, without our written agreement;
- create content designed to deceive people about whether it is real.
5. Your responsibilities
- Keep your API keys and credentials secure, and tell us immediately if you think they have been exposed.
- Make sure everyone in your organisation who uses the service follows this policy.
- Keep your contact details up to date.
6. Breach of this policy
If you breach this policy, we may suspend or end your access immediately, without notice, and take any other action available to us in law.
7. Reporting
To report misuse of Synthaveil, a security vulnerability or a data protection concern, email policies@synthaveil.com.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. We will tell customers about material changes at least 30 days before they take effect. The version on this page is the one that applies.
